Meet the Team
Dementia Training Australia (DTA) is a consortium bringing together leading dementia experts from four universities and the National Peak Body, Dementia Australia.
DTA currently uses different terms for behaviour. We will be progressively moving to the term Changed Behaviour in all our content.
Dementia Training Australia (DTA) is a consortium funded by the Australian Government to provide nationwide education and training on the care of people living with dementia.
Established in October 2016, our mission is to improve the care and wellbeing of both the people living with dementia and the staff delivering their care.
DTA combines the expertise of four universities and Dementia Australia to deliver a coordinated national approach to dementia training for individuals and organisations. Central coordination is provided by consortium lead, the University of Wollongong.
All people living with dementia, regardless of care setting and location, receive high-quality, evidence-based care that enhances their health and wellbeing.
To improve the care and wellbeing of people living with dementia, and the wellbeing of staff delivering their care, by providing or brokering nationally consistent, high-quality knowledge translation services to aged and health care staff, managers and other professionals.
Our approach is based on a knowledge translation framework. We aim to encourage life-long learning and promote applied skills development by converting what we know into practice.
