Fallon Forbes
Environments Team Service Manager,
Dementia Training Australia
University of Wollongong

Fallon's role at Dementia Training Australia
Based in DTAâs office at the University of Wollongong NSW, Fallon holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and has been involved with research projects focused on non-pharmacological interventions for people living with dementia and knowledge translation.
Fallon enjoys talking to people in many different parts of Australia about the Environments Consultancy Service.
âIt is especially satisfying to be able to say to someone in a rural or remote location âYes, one of our DPD consultants can come and visit your siteâ. These sites often have little access to training and education because they are so far from major centres, and residents have little choice of facility. Improving the way these environments can support older people makes a real differenceâ.
What you do at DTA
Manager of environmental education services. Â
Whatâs your favourite part of your job?
I love talking with anyone that gets in touch with DTA and is interested in learning more about the impact of the environment on people living with dementia. Whether that be an organisation involved in large scale rebuild, or care professionals interested in adapting an existing environment to support people better. âšI am also very lucky to work with a team of passionate environmental experts that are committed to helping the aged care workforce to create supportive and meaningful care environments.
How would your colleagues describe you?
As a big fan of a good spreadsheet.
Whatâs your favourite font and why?
Definitely not comic sans. You canât get passed a good Arial for everyday needs, but I might splurge every now and then on some Century Gothic.
Something on your bucket list that youâd care to share?
Seeing the northern lights.
